Inspiring Aspirations for Future Generations of Engineers
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering (MUCE), leaders of Deo Ca Group held an exchange and discussion session with the university's students. The event shared stories of the enterprise's journey through hardships and conveyed a powerful message about the aspiration to contribute, trust, and the responsibility of the younger generation toward national development. "Building People Before Building Roads" The seminar themed "Connecting Knowledge - Guiding the Future" attracted nearly 300 students and lecturers. This was not just a networking activity between the enterprise and the university, but a meeting between predecessors and future generations of engineers, where practical lessons were shared through real-world experience and dedication. Speaking at the program, Dr. Phan Van Hue - Rector of MUCE expressed his deep appreciation for Deo Ca Group's companionship in training, research, and student support over many years. According to Dr. Phan Van Hue, the connection between universities and businesses serves as a crucial bridge helping students narrow the gap between classroom knowledge and the practical demands of the labor market. Sharing with the students, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Group said that after more than 40 years of construction and development, Deo Ca now has 20 member companies and over 10,000 employees, actively participating in the implementation of many key infrastructure projects across the country. In the new phase of development, the demand for human resources, especially high-quality human resources, is immense, requiring businesses to be more proactive in training, fostering, and detecting talent early. Based on this reality, Deo Ca Group is promoting the "Corporate Semester" program, creating opportunities for students to access construction sites, projects, and real working environments while still on the university bench. Mr. Ngo Truong Nam - CEO of Deo Ca Group emphasized that the success of infrastructure projects stems not only from technology, machinery, or financial capacity, but the deciding factor remains human. Therefore, Deo Ca persistently adheres to on-the-job training, allowing learners to gradually mature through the stages of apprenticeship, assisting, and working. "We do not wait until students graduate to train them. From their second year onwards, they can come to construction sites for apprenticeships and observe the practical environment. During the internship phase, students are assigned to professional departments with mentors providing hands-on guidance to help them understand the profession, grasp the tasks, and forge professional working styles," Mr. Nam shared. During the interaction session, many students raised questions surrounding Deo Ca's development journey, entrepreneurial experiences, career opportunities, corporate culture, as well as the factors driving the success of a large-scale infrastructure enterprise. Answering a question about the greatest difficulty in the 40-year journey of building the Deo Ca brand, Chairman Ho Minh Hoang stated that it was "trust". Chairman Ho Minh Hoang shared that when implementing the Deo Ca Tunnel project, the enterprise faced numerous challenges regarding capital, mechanisms, experience, and even skepticism. However, through methodical preparation, a determination to pursue goals to the end, and a daring spirit to think and act, Deo Ca step by step established trust...
